I was more than honoured to be one of the 5 illustrators asked by SUPERMAMA to reimagine the Merlion. This series, known as Merlion Mambo, was exhibited at Milan Design Week 2022.

 

The cup I designed, "Farewell Mosaic" is a tribute to the demolished Merlion Walk at Sentosa, which is a nostalgic memory for many young Singaporeans who often visited the area as children. The Merlion Walk itself bore a resemblance to Barcelona's Park Güell, by the famous Antoni Gaudi.
